Water Mist Systems

GIRS 400 Portable Firefighting System

Components of GIRS System

Basic  set of GIRS System consists of a back pack with shoulder straps and waist belts, a tank for holding the extinguishing (foam/water) , a liquid level indicator , safety valve, a high pressure air cylinder with connectors and protected coupling system, pressure reducer, pressure demand regulator and discharge gun with original trigger operation.

Firefighting System GIRS could also be supplied with built-in other optional items like breathing apparatus, reserve gas cylinders and protection masks at addition cost.

 Scientific principles of GIRS system

GIRS System uses advanced supersonic technology based on the latest flow engineering dynamics which enables the mixing of the extinguishing agent and air to create uniform fine mist. The patented mixing technology creates high quality water mist /CAF at a low pressure of 9 bar at the same time ensuring maximum lancing distance for safe fire fighting.

Features:

  •  GIRS has achieved the highest fire rating when tested as per EN3.

  • Effective of Extinguishing Class A, Class B, Class C and Class E fire upto 36,000 volts

  • Extinguishing fire hazards not grater than 233B

  • GIRS could be used for smoke scrubbing, degassing etc

  • Good for disinfection and decontamination of radioactive or poisoned locations and objectives

  • GIRS system has minimum weight and at the same time maximum extinguishing power.

  • Dual mode discharge gun for jet and spray operation.

  • Ergonomically designed for better backpack mounting and easy mobility in operation.

  • Absolutely negligible recoil for the gun in operation.

  • System comprises of minimum moving parts and hence less maintenance

  • Can be recharged with minimum effort

  • Device is simple to use and trouble free service.

Working Principles

In GIRS system the extinguishing liquid is shot and dispersed by supersonic gas flow dynamics. The extinguishing agent is turbo powered when it comes out of the discharge gun. The discharge stream formed could be used in continuous jet mode or as wide spray with an angle of about 40 degrees. Similarly if the gun needs to be operated in impulse mode, it hardly take 0.3 seconds per impulse. The Creation of fine mist blocks the radiant heat and the fire insulating, cooling and blanketing effect than the conventional foam devices.

Specification of GIRS system

GIRS system components are made from high chemical resistant and fire resistant materials. The ergonomic backpack frame work is also having a heat resistant strap system.

Advantages of FSD GIRS 400

  • Less weight of the unit gives more easy fire fighting.

  • 9 Bar operating pressure gives more flexibility & provided absolutely nil gun recoil.

  • Increased discharge duration gives more fire performances with a layman fire fighter

  • Higher fire rating than other variants of similar capacity.

  • Patented gun design gives more extinguishing power from the Turbo Foam generated by this special gun

The devices fits fire safety demands and certificates, appears to be the most powerful portable firefighting system of all produced ones.
